The key to enhanced brain function is to activate the mid-brain. This mid-brain is like a control tower for consciousness and is equipped with highly advanced intelligence. The SYNC workshop uses a combination of brain gym exercises, play and music therapy to activate the mid-brain by teaching children to shift between brainwave states. Normally people function in Beta state in their day to day lives which is mostly our left-brain logical thinking state. In the workshop we learn to go from Beta to Alpha-theta brainwave state which is the optimal state for better concentration, greater learning, problem solving, tapping into intuition, increased creativity and a more stress-free mindset.
One of the effects of shifting brainwave states is that it allows a child to be able to see with a blindfold on, so as part of the workshop we use a blindfold technique to determine whether the mid-brain has been activated or not. This means that the child will gain sensory vision through touch, smell or hearing. Once this occurs and the child is able to “see” using the other senses, the stimuli coming into the brain will come through all senses equally and will be assimilated by both sides. At this stage, both sides of the brain become synchronized allowing them to function simultaneously and at optimal levels. And the more they practice, the smarter the become.
The best part about this program is a child doesn't have to come and refresh the course. Once the mid-brain is activated, they can have this new skill forever. Most children experience a shift as soon as they finish the workshop. Many are able to concentrate and focus better, gain higher self-confidence, and achieve better results in school
