What is the purpose of this program?

 

This is a brain mastery workshop to allow children to maximize their brain potential. The midbrain acts as the bridge that links both the right and left brain. By activating it, you simply allow a flow of communication between the two sides of the brain to become optimized. In doing so, children’s brain function dramatically improves allowing for better concentration, increased memory, critical thinking, creativity, self- confidence and emotional balance.

 

What is the workshop about?

It is an accelerated learning program inspired by Maria Montessori, Glenn Doman, Makoto Shichida, and many others. It is a gentle but powerful method of activating both hemispheres of the brain by using proven brain education techniques such as brain gym and eye exercises and music therapy to expand the brains capacity.   This is achieved by lowering brainwave states from beta to alpha-theta which is the optimal state for super learning.  There have been numerous studies and scientific research on the benefits of alpha brainwaves. In the SYNC program we teach children how to switch on alpha-theta brainwaves in their day to day lives in order to maximize their brain potential. 

 

How do you know if my child is activated or in alpha-theta brainwave state?

 

We know that a child has actually switched brainwave states because once this occurs a child will gain sensory vision. In Level I of SYNC, we use a blindfold technique in order for children to gain sensory vision.  This technique also works to help children with concentration and focus in classrooms.  After the music therapy, children are given an opportunity to play with the blindfold and test their sensory vision. Once the children have acquired the skill of sensory vision, the midbrain is activated and they have successfully swtiched brainwave states.  With regular practice, the benefits of the workshop get better over time. 

 

How many times does my child have to take the workshop?

 

Once the child has been activated, they have access to it as long as they choose. In extreme circumstances such as trauma, this can be compromised. It is important that the child practices regularly for at least 3 months following the workshop in order to master the new techniques of shifting brainwaves and to allow the brain to form new neuropathways.  Weekly practice sessions for a period of 8 weeks are included as part of the program to maximize the benefit, but home practice is highly recommended.

 

Are there any negative effects after taking this program?

 

No! Remember the only thing we are doing in this workshop is switching brainwave states and activating the midbrain so that the communication between the left and right sides of the brain becomes optimized. It is the new communication channels that help to create new neuropathways in the brain bringing about remarkable benefits for children.

 

Will the benefits remain after the course?

 

Basically once activated, the brain remains activated. The brain waves can be increased with age. However to prevent the left brain taking over the right brain, it is important to follow the Parents Guide provided to do daily practice at the initial stage after the course. To assist you and to check progress, we provide revision sessions. This practice helps to maintain the ability as well as enhance it. Many parents see their children progress to higher levels within weeks or months after the course.  Home practice is suggested at least 2-3 times a week for at least 15-20 minutes per session.

 

Can parents attend the workshop with their child?

 

We do not allow parents to attend the workshop because children will not fully relax if they know the parents are there.  In order for the workshop to be successful, the child must be relaxed and have fun during the workshop.  For this reason we do different activities for the children to really enjoy the workshop so it doesn’t feel like they are under pressure to perform.
